Babu Pricing Explained: Flat Fees, 0% Commission
Why did Babu move away from percentage pricing?
For years, the default pricing model for coaching software has been a percentage of revenue. It sounds fair when you are small — a low monthly cost, plus a small cut of what clients pay you. But that model quietly punishes exactly the coaches it should be rewarding: the ones who grow. Sign your fifth client and the percentage is barely noticeable. Sign your fiftieth, or your hundredth, and that same percentage is now a serious, recurring cost, taken directly out of revenue you worked to build, every single month, forever.
A flat monthly fee flips that relationship. As your client base grows, your cost does not grow with it — it stays fixed, and every additional pound a client pays you is a pound you keep. The bigger and more successful your coaching business gets, the better the economics of a flat plan look compared with a percentage cut. That is why we moved Babu to flat monthly plans: fair at ten clients, and dramatically fairer at fifty.
How much does Babu cost?
Babu costs £11.99 per month for up to 10 active clients (Starter) or £44.99 per month for up to 50 (Pro), both with 0% transaction fees, plus a custom percentage-based Enterprise plan for unlimited clients. Every plan includes the full platform — there are no locked features or paywalled modules to upgrade into; the only differences are the client cap and, for Enterprise, the fee structure itself.
Starter is £11.99 per month, for up to 10 active clients, with 0% transaction fees. This is built for a coach who is just getting their systems in place, or running a smaller, high-touch client base where ten is genuinely the right size.
Pro is £44.99 per month, for up to 50 active clients, with 0% transaction fees. This is the plan most growing coaching businesses land on — enough headroom to scale well past the point where spreadsheets and WhatsApp stopped working, without any change to your monthly cost as you add clients within that limit.
Enterprise is a custom plan, arranged directly with us, for unlimited active clients, with percentage-based transaction fees instead of a flat monthly price. This suits large or multi-coach operations where a percentage model, negotiated against a much larger volume of client payments, ends up making more sense than a flat fee.
What does 0% transaction fees mean?
It is worth being concrete about what 0% transaction fees means in your bank account, because the phrase can sound like marketing until you run the numbers. On Starter or Pro, once you are subscribed, Babu takes no cut of client payments — none. If you run a Pro plan and your clients pay you £2,000 a month in total, you keep all £2,000, less only your fixed £44.99 monthly subscription and the standard Stripe processing costs that apply to any card payment, anywhere. There is no additional percentage taken by the platform on top of that. On a revenue-share model — say 10% — that same £2,000 a month would mean handing over £200 a month before you have paid a penny toward your own subscription — money that, on Babu, stays with the coach.
How does the 14-day free trial work?
Every Starter or Pro coach starts with a 14-day free trial, and no card is required to begin it. You can set up your plans, invite clients, and try the platform properly before committing to anything. During those 14 days, a percentage-based platform fee applies to any payments your clients make through Babu — this is shown clearly in-app before you subscribe, so there is no surprise buried in the small print. The moment you subscribe to a paid plan, that trial platform fee drops to 0%, and you move onto the flat monthly pricing described above. In other words: try it properly, see it working with real clients and real payments, and only move to the zero-commission flat fee once you have decided to commit.
Which Babu plan should you pick?
If you are just starting to formalise your coaching business, or you deliberately keep your client list small and high-touch, Starter at £11.99 a month covers up to 10 active clients comfortably, with 0% transaction fees from the day you subscribe. If you are already past that point, or building toward it, Pro at £44.99 a month gives you room for up to 50 active clients on the same flat, zero-commission basis — most coaches who outgrow Starter move here rather than trying to negotiate a custom deal. And if you are running a larger operation, a team of coaches, or simply prefer a percentage-based structure at high volume, Enterprise is built for exactly that, with unlimited clients and terms agreed directly with us.
Whichever tier fits, the principle behind all three is the same: pricing that gets fairer, not more expensive, as your coaching business grows.
